Tiki Gelana wins the Women’s Marathon with a time of 2 hours, 23 minutes, 7 seconds, breaking the Olympic record. She is only the second Ethiopian to win the Olympic marathon. What’s more, she slipped and fell in the middle of the race and bruised her elbow but she got up and continued on with the race, like the champ she is.

I loved that she had her eyes closed for the last several yards. So lovely.

This was really beautiful to watch.  My tea was excellent too.  :P

Shut up you racist, sexist gas bags.

Watching the women’s olympic marathon, recorded earlier. Worst commentators ever.

The entire NBC telecast/commentary has been like this.  Can we put Bob Costas back on the slab and close the drawer please?  No one pays for plastic surgery with coupons.

Is it wrong that I stayed in bed this morning with a cup of tea watching these wonderful women run 26 miles?  No?  Ok.

This is good to hear!  Yeah the cardio is so important.  When I was sick a few months back and couldn’t work out at all, my heart rate/breathing suffered (the bronchitis didn’t help either).  It takes a while to recover even for the seasoned runner.  One of my RL friends who runs 1/2 marathons and marathons all the time swears by the 72 hour rule.  You can’t let 72 hours pass between runs/workouts or you begin to regress.  So glad you are back on track.

Pardon me while I heart every post of you bagging on Blackout. Did you see that his niece, who was the line producer, also said it wasn’t the best - LOL! I feel like they fucked it even worse in editing partially to get a sequel, but when a THIRD of your audience doesn’t come back after the first episode, you aren’t getting a sequel no matter how “open” you leave the ending. To make people “want more”, don’t write crap is the first step, and don’t fuck over your audience with a garbage ending is the second.

Definitely. Three days off and you don’t feel rested, you feel dented. But, after a tough couple of days, I really enjoyed my last two runs (a 5 and a 3), so it’s nice that it feels good again.

Heh.  Yeah.  And I’m guilty as charged because I did watch all three episodes.  Mainly because I can’t see CE live and on the stage…at this point I’ll take anything.  So much wasted talent here.  And when CE’s own niece (the line producer) agrees that it wasn’t very good, I feel vindicated.  I’m not a stupid person and while watching eye candy is nice, I still would like some substance.  Even his one sex scene in this farce WASN’T SEXY.  It was disturbing. And while I understand that’s what the director was probably going for, it made for believing his douche character was remotely redeemable, impossible.

No one kicks the bottle because they get shot and think they killed someone!  The writers borrowed from the Harrison Ford piece-of-shit movie “Regarding Henry” written by JJ Abrams and directed by Mike Nichols where we discover if you shoot a dickhead lawyer in the head…..he becomes a nice, sweet guy in recovery.  NO.

NO SEQUEL….PLEASE.  I’ll need to adjust the hue on my TV again.

Keep running!  Woot!  My next 5k won’t be till September but I’m already looking at increasing my distance to the 10k.  Yay!
