I really admire all the brilliant people who take the time to post online that hate Chris Eccleston’s Doctor and that they are mad he won’t return for the 50th.
Some of them actually claim that there’s a logical connection: *because* he doesn’t milk his connection to Doctor Who by appearing at conventions, coming back for a cameo in the 50th, etc., *therefore* they do not like his performance when he was part of the show.
And I don’t expect previous Doctors to starve or anything, I respect any decision made respectably. I find it quite easy to delight in the ways that McGann clearly loves conventions and that Eccleston does not (while simultaneously not respecting pretty much anything Barrowman does.) I have yet to die from the conflict.
I’m taking time to reblog your awesomeness.

He will always be the Ninth Doctor to me, I don’t care what Moffat says. He’s my Doctor and he is Nine.

(Smooth ass mother fucker)

I have nothing against John Hurt, but Christopher Ecclestone will always be Nine to me and he will always be my Doctor.
QFT
Guys….I appreciate this sentiment but after 8 years can we at least spell the man’s name correctly? Eccleston.

Pretty much my reaction to Moffat’s decision to rewrite canon.
hahahahaha! Steven Moffat thinks HE’S a fucking Time Lord who can rewrite time. MY head canon: Eccles said this to Moffat for the 50th anniversary after he read the ridiculous script.

I can’t even believe this behavior is real. And that someone thinks they are being, what? Friendly? Polite? Decent?
Like if you say cheers and throw in a smiley face, it doesn’t matter what you do? I care about how people actually treat each other. The petition is an action, sending it to someone is another action. Using emotions to force someone to do something they have chosen not to do is bad behavior.
But don’t listen to me, apparently *I’m the person “freaking out.”
I’ve been discovering of late, the world really is becoming, a sicker, sadder place. Signing a petition to force another individual to do something against their will IS WRONG. This is probably why Chris didn’t want to do this in the first place. DW is currently filled with CRAZY. I would like to believe your theory that the script sucked. But I always think of that nut case lady who followed him to EVERY performance of Antigone and then asked him about his personal life. He shut her down quick and then she began bitching at him on Twitter.
He doesn’t want the nut cases bothering him. Fans are one thing….stalkers and complete weirdos like that are another. I wouldn’t return to DW either.
I saw the birth of the universe and I watched as time ran out, moment by moment until nothing remained. No time. No space. Just me. I’ve walked in universes where the laws of physics were devised by the mind of a madman! I’ve watched universes freeze and creations burn!
And this is only ONE similar scene. There are many more.

I can’t even count all the issues I have with this change.org petition to ask Eccleston to come back to the show. Here are a few, though.
- Human beings are not juke boxes, they aren’t required to sing the tunes you like
- Change.org? Seriously.
- Your feelings about a show aren’t more important that someone else’s feelings about his/her life
- Is this really something you would done to you? You’ve considered something seriously that was very important to you and your career. For your own reasons, you decide not to revisit a former job. Months later, dozens and dozens of people you don’t know demand that you return because of their feelings. Yikers.
- so many more
This seems like some appalling bad behavior.
(I took out ‘follow your bliss’ because obviously these folks don’t need encouragement in that regard.)
OMG. This has to be a joke. WTF is wrong with people? IT’S A FUCKING TV SHOW. I love fangirling about shit too but this is too far. This is an actor’s life. Holy Fuck……the fandom has lost it.
The last time fandom got this bad was right before they pulled DW off the air in 1989.

I couldn’t be happier with the idea (there is no proof as far as I’m concerned) that Eccleston met with Moffat and determined that the script was not good enough to change his mind.

Hahahaha! Or the mere thought of being in the same room with David Tennant and John Barrowman made him vomit. (now go make Blackout 2…..LOL)

OMG!!! VAN STATTEN KNEW!!! HE BURNED A 50 INTO NINE’S CHEST! HOLY SHIT!!!
OMG!!! THERE’S A 50 ON HIS SHIRT!!!!!! WHAT DOES IT MEAN??????? And he’s reading into a microphone!!!!! AGHHHHHH!!!!!!!! It’s a NON FACE TO FACE READ THROUGH!!!!!!
Is he laying on his broken leg (knee cap)?

I saw this posted by singing-thebodyelectric…….
I posted a response to this photo but decided to turn it into a post because it’s ruining my Castle love fest right now.
Is he laying on his broken leg? My knee is completely fucked up right now and I can’t sleep on that leg AT ALL. Not criticizing the shot but what is supposed to be this great Caslte spoon-fest makes me wince because of his stupid leg. Ugh! My stupid brain just won’t stop.

Even the Ninth Doctor is concerned.
Thanks Moffat! You wanker.
Thanks for rewriting “The Idiot’s Lantern” with cool motorcycle and wifi stealing souls. You are one of the worst show runners I’ve seen in quite some time. But when you claim your ideas are original….I have to laugh. Yes…go ask Clara again because apparently 9/Rose never existed in your universe.
PS. Elementary is better than your shitty Sherlock. ;)
As thrilled as I am with the confirmation of Billie Piper and David Tennant starring in the 50th special…

I can’t help but wonder, WHAT ABOUT CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON???

I was wondering this too but the only thing is, Eccleston hated working on the Doctor Who set…I don’t think he’d be so keen to return. :/
It wasn’t so much about hating the Doctor Who set as it was with disagreeing with the producers and their plans for the future of the show. There have been interviews where he has hinted he could return, I’m just going to be optimistic and say they just haven’t revealed his return yet!
^Eccleston has said that he left the show because of politics (x) As for him coming back for the 50th, he has said he won’t (Graham Norton Radio show in April 2011) but who knows until we see the actual episode :)
Oh fuck. Are we back to this shit again? Will this EVER end?
