I’m always a little bit surprised when I see people say that Nine was the ugliest of the new doctors. When you think about it objectively, though, Christopher Eccleston is really the most attractive of the three, in the classical sense of the term. (Yes, Jake, I have seen his ears, but even so.)

I mean… LOOK at the other two. David Tennant is a scrawny little guy with a beaky crooked nose, asymmetrical eyeballs, and “can make some very unattractive sort of pinchy faces when he’s straining over something.” And Matt Smith? He resembles a little old man with a face shaped like an oblong pumpkin. And his eyes are terrifying. Like sunken pits into hell with burning coals for pupils. He probably is a child snacher. (Note: I am intensely attracted to DT, regardless. Matt smith, a little less so, but I still wouldn’t say no.)

I read somewhere that someone (so incredibly vague, sorry, but I don’t remember what it was) said that the camera on Doctor Who was not his friend, but that Eccleston was surprisingly handsome in person. I wonder why that was? That jacket may have had something to do with it… The other doctors all got such tailored suits that you don’t notice he’s actually a pretty thin guy under all that leather.

The haircut wasn’t exactly his best either. Who picked that, by the way?! CE has such great hair, why would they give him THAT when the others got such luxurious manes?!

But it was more than that… I don’t know… I just wish he was cut a bit more slack around here. He was an amazing Doctor, and his face is the only thing (OK maybe not JUST his face, but you get the point) that made some of his movies worth watching.
